The situation

What has happened

The thermal imaging survey at Harbourview Apartments, job J-26-1152, found two hot joints on the neutral bar of the level 8 distribution board. The owners corporation has asked for a quotation to repair the joints immediately and to replace the level 8 board with a new board that provides residual current protection on every final sub-circuit. The board supplies twelve apartments' common area circuits, the level 8 corridor lighting, fire door holders and a lift lobby air conditioner. Any outage must be arranged with the building manager and residents notified forty-eight hours ahead. The riser is tight and access is through a locked cupboard. The Electrical Contracting Manager will review the draft before it is sent.
