CAQA Voltline Electrical, electrical contracting, electronics, refrigeration and renewables
CAQA Voltline Electrical is a licensed electrical contracting business that installs, tests, services and maintains electrical, electronic, refrigeration and renewable energy systems for commercial, industrial and residential customers across Melbourne, Geelong and central Victoria. The work ranges from switchboard upgrades and commercial fit-outs to cold room fault finding, rooftop solar and battery installations, security and data cabling, and scheduled test and tag and emergency lighting programs. Customers include cold storage operators, owners corporations, schools, dental practices, shopping centres, aged care providers and engineering workshops. Voltline employs sixteen apprentices and takes pride in training the next generation of tradespeople.
The business is organised into six departments. Electrical Contracting runs new installations and projects from the Braeside head office, with a Geelong branch for the western region. Service and Maintenance operates a fleet of eleven service vans across the three sites on a 7:00 am to 4:00 pm roster with an after-hours on-call electrician. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Solar and Battery, and Electronics, Security and Communications are specialist teams that share the Braeside workshop and stores. Safety, Quality and Business Support looks after licensing, training, safety, quality, scheduling, purchasing, payroll and invoicing for the whole business.
Nobody works live
Every circuit is isolated, locked, tagged and proven dead before work starts. There is no job urgent enough to break this rule.
Test everything, certify honestly
Every installation is tested to the Wiring Rules and the results are recorded exactly as measured. A certificate is a promise to the customer and the regulator.
Grow good tradespeople
Apprentices are taught properly, supervised closely and given real responsibility as they earn it.
Leave it better
Sites are left clean, customers are told plainly what was done and why, and refrigerants and waste are handled so the environment is protected.
Services and operations
To deliver safe, compliant and well finished electrical, refrigeration and renewable energy work that customers can trust for decades.
Commercial and industrial electrical installation
Switchboards, sub-mains, lighting, power and control wiring for fit-outs, factories and warehouses, designed and installed to the Wiring Rules with full testing and certification.
Service, fault finding and maintenance
Rapid response fault finding, repairs, test and tag, emergency lighting and exit sign testing, and scheduled preventive maintenance programs for commercial customers.
Refrigeration and air conditioning
Installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of cold rooms, commercial refrigeration cabinets, split systems and variable refrigerant flow systems by licensed refrigerant handlers.
Rooftop solar and battery storage
Site surveys, system design, installation and commissioning of grid-connected photovoltaic and battery systems for homes, schools and businesses by accredited installers.
Security, data and communications
Structured cabling, access control, intruder alarm and video systems for offices, schools and retail, installed by registered cablers and commissioned to the customer's specification.
Inspection, audit and compliance reporting
Thermal imaging of switchboards, installation inspections, energy audits and written compliance reports for owners corporations, facility managers and insurers.
Six departments, one workplace
Each department has a purpose, a lead, responsibilities, performance measures and the systems it works in. Students are placed in a department by their scenario.
